Gotta love it when celebrities do the Friday afternoon dump (in the shadow of a major Supreme Court ruling) to prevent the news from getting too much research and coverage. I find Hollywood and the cult of celebrity interesting because under all that glitz, glamor, and sparkle, Hollywood is a cut-throat industry dominated by politics. Some of the most adept politicians—say, Harvey Weinstein—and poker faces are in Hollywood, yet most people have no idea. What? Jennifer Aniston isn’t actually pining over Brad Pitt? John Travolta, Tom Cruise, and Taylor Lautner gay? Fake marriages and beards? George Clooney unmarried with no children by choice? Lies, lies, lies—these are normal people whom we normal folk could invite over for dinner at anytime!
