wayne mcgregor did a tedtalk!
it’s crazy what these ppl can do w/ their bodies
Did you know that ballet dancers often have exceptional peripheral vision? Since the angle of their heads is part of the choreography, dancers often rely on their eye movement alone to see what is going on around them.

We don’t normally add our own commentary to pictures but I wanted you guys to know that this is a really important picture to me and hopefully more of you. As a person of color in the ballet world, it’s easy to lose hope about ever getting into a company. This picture, especially in a ballet like Swan Lake, really breaks down barriers and gives hope to me and I’m sure many others.

Harlem Shake: One Name, Two Separate Dances
The worldwide dance contagion that has spawned over 12,000 YouTube imitations is not the Harlem Shake. The real Harlem Shake, a much more raw, technical, fluid, frenetic dance, was born in the hardscrabble streets of New York City back in the early 1980s.
Someone at the NYT is annoyed by the Vanilla Shake.
I really wanna be able to dance like B, Wang Yabin, and Polina Semionova or Natalia Osipova.
omfg all these white people doing the “Harlem shake”
they’re not doing the Harlem shake
